THIS ONE IS FOR SECURITY OFFICERS AND POTENTIAL SECURITY OFFICERS

Many Security Officers I speak with know that I frequently discuss professionalism within the Security Industry. One topic is the handgun carried by Security Officers. I strongly believe that a Security Officer's handgun should not be a sub-compact concealed carry firearm. The handgun should be visible on their belt and appropriately fit their hands. While I am not endorsing any specific weapon, the Glock 19 is a good example when considering the size of a handgun. There are numerous options available with similar size, weight, and ease of use.
An important component of the Security Officer's uniform is the duty belt. I observe holsters attached to waistbands and belts, as well as duty belts and simple belts with holsters threaded through loops. When using a belt threaded through belt loops to carry your holster, magazine pouch, handcuffs (if applicable), pepper spray, baton, etc., space between the belt loops can become limited. The optimal arrangement is to use an under belt threaded through your loops, combined with an over belt that holds your gear. This over belt is secured to the under belt with belt keepers, providing greater security for your weapon and equipment. In the past, these belts were made of heavy leather (which I still prefer) and were quite heavy. Today's belts are available in leather, nylon, and other materials, making them lighter and nearly as durable with proper care. They are also more affordable than their leather counterparts. By wearing this setup the Security Officer not only has all their equipment immediately accessible, but they also look more professional and prepared.
I have checked and found a duty belt, under belt and four belt keepers for around $60.00. The belt is from 5.11, a major supplier of Law Enforcement and Security equipment. Their equipment is of high quality, is durable and adds a look of professionalism to your uniform.

I am attaching the link below just in case you want to look at them. Don't forget while you're on their page, you can find nearly any piece of equipment you need.
